I have never seen or hear of using the goop method but when its done is thire any chance of water affecting the splice? I think that it may have because of two cables going into the inclousure they shere a hole. I know how hard it is to get a seal around two cables in the same hole. Have made that mistake befor. finaly is it possible that water may have frozen and some how got into the "bad " splice and then ruputured the splice point?? Making a "good " splice a bad one in 6 mounths??
