It appears that most prime contractors hire subcontractors and treat them as employees not as a subcontractor according to the IRS rulings. It appears conflicting or at least a very gray area - Does anyone have any information on this subject? Don't take this as complaining - I would just like to know.
1. The prime gives us instructions to follow
2. The prime provides training
3. Prime requires me to perform all the services personally
4. Prime maintains long-term relationships with subs
5. Sets hours to be at office each day
6. Installatin performed by certain times
7. Full-time work
8. Written reports
9. Prime provides tools (meters)
Am I an employee or subcontractor?
