same half-assed plant...just a different name. this is the kicker...even tho its the same plant, the two copanies are SO different. TCI may have been screwed up, but,TCI paid...TCI paid well...TCI got the work done...TCI was #1...ATT has no busness in cable...ATT always low-balled...ATT cant seem to finish ANYTHING...ATT bought the #1 tele-communications mso/leader/franchise and drove it straight into the bowels of hell...ATT is as far from #1 as is possible...summary: ATT SUCKS! GO HOME ATT!!! STICK TO LONG DISTANCE!!! AS FAR AWAY FROM CABLE TV AS CAN BE!!!

LGB dan...damn expensive huh? lol. thats the stuff, only i run primarely the two american companies Aristo-Craft and U.S.A Trains equipment. CableLand's AmTrak passenger service is the only LGB product for 3 reasons. 1-i dont like the price, 2-i dont like the styles (european), and C-its not made in the U.S.A. The AmTrak looks cool, and was a real deal on ebay. one of those 'cant pass up' deals. the nominal scale i run in freight is 1:29. the diorama will be in scales from 1:25 to 1:32. goofy ranges i know but all spread out it will look pretty cool i think. knowing that daytona is coming up, i converted the trains top speed into scale mph. here are the results: Aristo-Craft GE-U25B-71.8 smph...U.S.A GP-7- 60 smph, LGB AmTrak Express-115 smph. the GE-U25B is a 2500HP diesel locomotive, the GP-7 is a 1500HP diesel locomotive, and i have no clue what the AmTrak has. Look at the Bachman starter sets in 'G' scale. they are called the Bachman 'Big Haulers'. very reasonable. you get a 4-6-0 steam loco w/tender & sound, usually 1 car, and 1 caboose, oval of track, power pack, usually a couple of figures too, all for around 150-175 depending on the set. be forewarned tho, once you hold that big assed loco and tender you may get train fever! the stuff i use now is a couple steps up from bachman (actually it depends on who you talk to about that) and the price is still very reasonable...avg 35-45/car compared to 60-90 avg/car for LGB.

GDI GDI. They do have some good people, know some personally. Trouble you have is getting on the same proj. they are on.Dealt with them in JAX That was f*%&ed up anyway.Everybody's fault and nobody's.Ran into them again in Lafayette IN. THAT was a screwed proj. As soon as a new manager reached the point where he couldn't blame it all on the last manager, he was gone too and so on.Got screwed on the retro,on the MDU's and on directional boring.Backcharged over $100 for leaving a pwr supply on ALT during retro,in house guy "fixed"it over a month after node was done.Tell me how that is possible.Insight guy was taking kickbacks from a UG contractor with 50 mexicans he treated like dog shit.Promises, promises,'If you'll do this....' all the way.Like I said you gotta get on a proj. where those few good people are.

Must add before shit starts that Lafayette was NOT all GDI's fault.Too many chiefs and not enough warriors and Insight couldn't keep the Buffalo in stock

Good morning all,I got to thinking,of Co.'s that I had been used by .I thought, who would be #1. It had to be CCI, Cable Concepts Inc.It was a co. operating at that time in West Palm Bch.Fla.,it was owned by a man named Dennis Mattachuck from Canada. It was run by one of the biggest" crooks" I have ever met in this business,"ALAN CHAPMAN" .Does anybody know where he is now a-days? Three screwed up checks,I was gone.I remember one Friday (in the short time I worked for them),The Guatamalin, hand dig crew, about 20 of them, was settin around the warehouse, getting drunk,Alan was late getting back with the checks. They took a rope, made it into a hangmans noose, threw it up across a rafter, the group started to chant"Alan,Alan,we want Alan."Let me tell you 20 drunk,Guatamalins, with a rope, and only one of them that spoke english,is a scary sight.Alan, finally gets there. It was the only time in my life I was ever paid and the project mgr.had a 15 shot 9mm in his breif case, that he let you see in case,he had a problem. That was about 11yrs.ago now.At least I can still laugh when I think of the look on Chapmans face when he saw that rope and all of those men.Has anybody else got any similar stories? See Ya "WHITFIELD"
