Gentlemen...I have been surfing this site for quite a while. I have a question! My company is currently owned by AT&T. Managed by Charter Communications and soon to fall under a management contract with Insight. What is the future for an Office Manager in such a transition? Any comments? Any, pardon the pun, insight??

Mr. Vest, I have noticed quite a few advertisements from you for the same openings. Are these openings real or is it that the pool of potential employees is just too poor to choose from. I responded to one and to date have heard nothing back in response. From the messages that I have seen on this "wet cement" it would appear that you have been in the business for some time as have I. I would expect more from a professional of your caliber. If you have the time to post messages, then I would think you have the time to review the resumes' that have been sent and at least respond to the person with a short note to say the resume was received.

OUTLAW, I think you've hit it on the head....
I have heard Vest is an honorable fellow, and don't
know if that is where the problem lies, but I had the same
problem a few weeks ago! You will probably see your
comments get `Spun' to where you become a "whiner" or
"cry baby"...pay it no mind, sounds like you too know the
importance of good communications! There's plenty of
catv work out there...Don't walk backwards or talk chinese
now! Just look elsewhere!

anyone out there know of a guy that says he knows CATV by the name of Patrick Mata? Or Robert Givins? or Mike Nelson? Presumably they are working in the San Jose or San Franciso area.

I post ads for all of our projects and may not always be the contact person, but I do leave a contact person on every ad.

I know you are Mike's brother and do not see how in the world you could not talk to Steve when FiberComm is sub-contracting from us in Jackson, Tenn.

Also, Outlaw, yes, these ads are very real. There isn't an overwhelming pool of experienced people to pull from right now, because there is so much work out there, anybody who knows anything is already working. I am trying to catch people who are winding up somewhere and may be looking ahead to the next project. We have a total of just over 10,000 miles of upgrade on our plates right now, so yes, we do need some good quality people to get the work done.
