Hey, John Allen, you are definetely way "old school". You strapped on when I was 2 years old! Even when I got started, 1982, it was still flat beds and screamers! Bucket babies don't know how good they got it!!! Served up on a silver platter! That's why good line dogs are so hard to find! You need work, which I doubt because you probably write your own ticket, call me at606-###-####. Need const. managers for two different projects, both over 1,000 miles, starting after the first of the year. Take care, bro!

Damn you guys are right on!! Lineman just dont exist anymore. You get these greenhorns right out of climbing school they strap on a belt and grab a bell wrench a wa la they are lineman. These guys scare me the way they climb, I keep thinking there goes my Work Comp rates again. I turn most of these guys into grunts the first day. They come out of school wanting $13.75/hr They dont want to carry anything up the pole and expect the grunt to hand line them everthing. And once you give them a T-40 forget it, they will never climb again......

Hey Gary, man you make me feel old. Just wish things were like they used to be. I guess we let these young guys get started the wrong way. Hey,who can you blame? Us old guys trained them. I reckon we wanted them to have it easier than we did. Just like we do our kids, and we made a mess of that too(mine are spoiled rotten). I think that the standards have changed, and the work ethic shows it. Thanx for the job offer, but I guess I'll have to hang around where I am for awhile.

You don't realize how much knowledge youv'e aguired threw the years untill you try to teach some one some thing,,it seems to take these kids longer to catch on these days, I guess I'm from the old school(1980), take climbing for instance, I remember the first stick I went up, I thought it was cool as hell, these kids now days freak at even the mention of it,you know what ruffules my feathers the most, is a 22 yr old kid with a bad back, I can't climb because,,,,,,, Burger King is taking apps.
