Job Description
We are seeking motivated and skilled Drop Technicians to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunication and network infrastructure. Your expertise will help ensure seamless connectivity for our clients by working with heavy equipment, fiber optic splicing, and low voltage systems. Duties
Install, repair, and maintain telecommunication systems including fiber splicing, cabling, and network infrastructure.
Operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks and power tools safely to access installation sites at various heights.
Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate system setup.
Climb poles or structures using climbing gear to install or troubleshoot low voltage systems like LAN (Local Area Network), Ethernet, and telephony lines.
Conduct testing of computer networking systems including WAN (Wide Area Network) connections and electrical components.
Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to complete cabling, electrical connections, and system upgrades.
Document work progress with detailed reports, including system configurations, test results, and site conditions.
Requirements
Proven experience in field service roles involving telecommunication or IT infrastructure installation.
Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks safely and effectively.
Knowledge of fiber splicing techniques and cabling standards for telecommunications networks.
Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to network infrastructure.
Strong electrical experience with low voltage systems including LAN, Ethernet, telephony, and power distribution.
Skilled in climbing poles or structures using appropriate safety gear; climbing certification is a plus.
Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and construction practices related to telecommunications or electrical work.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety protocols.
