Qualifications
At least 10 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry and a holistic understanding of underground construction related to telecommunications wire installation.
Other Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license. Ideally, should have key relationships with decision makers of carriers who provide phone, TV, and internet service.

BELOW IS A NON-EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES FOR A GURU(S) THAT WE’RE SEARCHING FOR
The ideal candidate has:
A pleasant personality with a minimum of 10 years professional experience with resolving complex cable plant problems following standard practices
Academic, military, formal and/or practical training in low-volage telecommunications and electrical (a plus, but not required)
Ability to work in-person in the Dallas and Fort Worth TX area to shape, grow, supervise and improve an existing OSP team
Extreme comfort with outside plant infrastructure for wireline and wireless carriers
Passion about staying abreast of trends in the telecommunications industry
Key relationships or ability to create key relationships with decision makers within top-tier service providers and governmental institutions
Loyalty to entrepreneurial company’s growth goals and eager to have synergy with dedicated staff
Experience managing teams with operational OSP responsibilities including materials, methods, and tools involved in OSP construction (fiber cable design & installation, pole line construction, conduit system design & installation, etc.)
Expert with boring, drilling, microtrenching, hand digging, etc.
Expert with lashing, delashing and other related aerial installation scopes of work
Expert understanding of double-lash trunk cable, multiple cables and single feeder cables
Focus on underground and aerial construction of coax and fiber plants
Enjoyment initiating and driving process changes to existing policies and procedures designed to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
Proficiency and ability to train others to troubleshoot, identify faults and provide rectification remedies for fiber optic cables using diagnostic tools including OTDR, fusion splicing machine, light source & power meter, loop tester, earth ground fault testers, etc.
Desire to develop teams to maintain in-depth knowledge of OSP engineering, construction and splicing
Interest in providing support, direction, assistance and recruiting of hand dig, machine excavator, boring and aerial teams
Ability to be an escalation point for OSP issues from both external and internal sources
Skills to review plans, designs and specifications of outside public or private facility projects to ensure compliance with current telecommunications facilities in accordance with industry practices, codes, regulations and ordinances
Ability to help attract, train, motivate, and retain highly capable people who exemplify the Wilkins Ideal Team Player (hungry, humble, smart/emotional intelligence & professional)
Collaborative ability to work with Wilkins Leadership to insure overall smoothness of OSP and team dynamics
Good written communication ability
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills

Ability to interpret telecom drawing/prints
Ability to develop as-builts after work completion
Comprehensive knowledge of brownfield and greenfield deployment including but not limited to node and power supply installation and activation, joint trench and vault setting
Aptitude to maintain a safe working environment
OSP expertise in activities including solution design, cost estimation, time estimation, engineering and construction analysis, onsite meeting support and reading detailed engineering prints
