Re: Modem Problem


We had a similar problem with the 3com modems. We had upgraded our cmts to a 4 channel motorola, and since then our 3com modems were doing the same thing. We have been replacing them with surf boards for the past year. As we have weeded out the 3coms, our modem problems have decreased.

However, we took the 3com cmts to another system we had just rebuilt and installed it there, where we use only the 3com modems, and it seems to work fine. The only problem with them is when you try to contact them through the modem manager for stats, they won't respond. So you have to reset the modem, then it will respond for the next day or so. In my experience with these modems, they have always had this problem.
