Could be a couple of things..first, make sure that the volume on the DCT is set to "best stereo", then control the volume with your other audio components.
Another scenario could be that Comcast has the modulation on the video portion of the offending channels too high in their headend. A phone call to your local office might help sort this out. This sounds more like what you describe, if you only notice it happening when the picture is more "white" or bright.
I would also take the RF output of the DCT to your television. See if there is any difference when utilized in that fashion.
