Get the directions from the connector/fitting.

When splicing coax "hardline" you need to take care to follow the manufacturer directions.

A potential problem is long center conductor in a pin fitting. This causes the radiation sleeve in the fitting to not bottom out against the dielectric.

Another area of concern is when a novice splicer does not leave a "true" edge with the coring tool. The edge will resemble a potato chip, when viewed across.

Switchman, the days you refer to are but a fond memory. Back in the day you had to realy learn how to splice before you could get hired as a "tapper".

> I dont have much experience working with hardline, but i have heard it is possible to strip 1/2 hardline with tubecutters and use a T&B K series connector or splice on it. Just out of curiosity was wondering if anyone might shed some light on this. Thanks in advance!!!

You don't always get what you expect, but you know what you got when you inspect. Happiness comes from within, some poor souls are just without.
