I have done just about everything you ask for except trouble shoot back to the first active. I am the 1 service tech. at my current job. i get all the trouble calls that no one can figure out and also Company special jobs. please contact me back with information pertaining to this job! Thank You

> JOB SUMMARY:
> Under general supervision, responsible for performing field technical work and servicing customer problems; trouble shooting, repair and maintenance of the Cable Television system.
>
> ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
> Contribute to the Company vision of being the industry leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork
>
> Perform all duties of Installer I, II, and Service Technician I; respond to service calls; troubleshoot dropline and distribution problems; splice cable; make other necessary repairs to improve customer picture quality
>
> Monitor and repair signal leakage
>
> Assist with training of service technician trainees
>
> Maintain tools and converter inventory
>
> Complete paperwork associated with each work order in a timely manner
>
> Clean, maintain and stock assigned vehicle and equipment
>
> Troubleshoot and repair or replace any defective components from the tap to the connection of the customer’s equipment
>
> Replace defective or damaged tap plates and/or install new taps
>
> Identify causes of picture and/or signal degradation
>
> Troubleshoot system problems back to the first active
>
> Assist in outages as needed
>
> Audit for illegal connections
>
> Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
>
> PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
> A. Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
> Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices
> Ability to adhere to Local, Federal regulations and Company policies
> Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder, (approx. 28 ft high and 75 pounds)
> Ability to climb poles using gaffs, hooks and climbing belt as needed
> Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
> Ability to drive Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner
> Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting
> Ability to perform job from high places (i.e. poles and roofs)
> Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
> Ability to read general system layouts from blue prints and system maps
> Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
> Ability to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers in the installation of cable to the residence and TV set converters
> Ability to walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment, including gaffs, ladders, and fully loaded tool belts
> Ability to work independently
> Ability to work while standing 50 - 70% of the time
> Ability to work with small components and wires to make cable connections
> Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics
> Knowledge of cable television products and services
> Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electrical Safety Code
> Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus

> B. Education
> High School Diploma or equivalent
> NCTI Service Technician Course or equivalent
>
> C. Related Work Experience
> Service Technician I - 1 year
>
> D. Certifications and/or Licenses
> Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within Company required standards
>
> WORKING CONDITIONS:
> Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, cleaning solutions
> Work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night
> Work performed near power lines and electricity
> Work and travel in inclement weather
>
