I am a prime myself and what the MSO does is back charge's the prime the price they get for the job. Now the prime get's $50.00 for an outlet and pay's out $12.00 the contractor should only back charge the amount he looses $12.00. Because thats all he lost. But the prime see's it as the MSO took $50.00 off his invoice so thats why they do that way. I think it depend's on the state you are in if it's legal or not. Sometime's it's cheaper to eat the backcharge than fight it out in court. But a honest contractor would only backcharge you the amount of what he pay's out. If to many backcharge's are coming in that send's up RED FLAG'S to me. Thinking the contrator might be in trouble. (MONEY) Just do the best job you can do and you will know it's not your fault. I been doing this for 15 year's and will never get use to the way thing's are done. Good Luck in the future.
