> Hi everyone,
> I would like to take a serious poll from others in the cable business. I am asking the following questions as a way to aid in making choices about the future of the business. Thank you all for your time and comments. Here they are:
> 1) DO YOU THINK THE INDUSTRY WILL REBOUND TO WHERE WORK IS ABUDANT AGAIN?
> 2) IF YES, THEN, WILL THE MONEY BE WHERE IT WAS A COUPLE YEARS AGO?
> 3) IS IT TIME FOR A MOM&POP SUBCONTRACTING FIRM TO CLOSE DOORS OR GO IN HOUSE?
There is going to be a lot of disagreement and I will probably anger some of the guys on here with this answer but as "dave" said I don't give a sh**!
I believe the future is Satellite, the key here is change and adapt. The last boost the cable industry saw was high speed internet access, and the cable companies jumped on the bandwagon and upgraded to meet the demand. Some work is still going on to meet this demand. But I think the future of entertainment and communications will be satellite. The cable companies cannot keep there subscription prices as low as DSS because of the upkeep or upgrade of the cable systems and the cost involved. I believe before long the cable companies will be marketing and installing there own dishes with the only difference being programming and faster service during outages. I think soon when you sign up for cable they will come and install a dish pointed at there local transmitter, no more wired systems stretching for miles and miles and up keep involved, think about it.
