NEED APPROXIMATELY 12mos TO HEAL. DENIED SSA HELP. SUGGESTIONS?

We need comments or suggestions from anyone who might have dealt with similiar thing. We only wanted SSI, SSDI. & MEDICAID benefits while injuries heal. Not permently. Lineman drove Harley into side of a pickup. Resulting in multi breaks of multi bones. Doctors using him as a "poster boy" regarding the contraption placed on left arm. Only 3 one done here we're told. And dr. estimates 12 mos. total healing time. Unknown if he will still be a lineman then. I know his LINEMAN'S ATTITUDE will get him up pole, don't know if wise to continue as career. SSA says he should heal in 12 mos. so no benefits. And there is no state disability program here.
