Re:Cable modem mysteries

Intermittent ingress problems can be a real pain w/modems. Is your plant tight? We've experienced ingress from things like electric fences, faulty street lights, even had a remote model car a kid was playing with eat our lunch. Three good practices, when maintaining 2-way plant are do leakage, do leakage, and do leakage.

>The system that i have worked in for 5 years just recently launched HSD. All has gone fairly well except every once in awhile we will have a customer whose modem just seems to quit working. Signal level is fine forward and reverse, provisioning is ok,we have added a dc block and an ac filter, ran new drop cable but the problem seems to be very intermittent. when it does happen it will stay down for approximately 2-3 hours. the customer says however when it works it works great. I am fresh out of options.HELP!!!!
