I've got a quick question as to the lenth of the pin on a connector: What's a sweeper looking for?
I've always used the cut gage on the equipment housing to tell me the maximum length of a pin so as to avoid shorts, but should one look to cut even with seizure screw, therefore risk a suck out in when the weather turns cold? does it not matter as long as all the pins go past the set screw the same length. When I splice, I'll usually do an entire leg in one direction, so I guess the sweeper would be able to compensate. As far as trying to get every sub to do it the same, that's a pipe dream. I don't sweep, but I'm definately looking to make the next guys job as easy as possible. What's your Idea of a job done right?
So what about when we splice in the rain? Something tell me that there are a lot of black conductors out there.
