Our company has the opportunity to be the telephone and cable company for a 450 acre housing development. Cable and phone service would be centrally housed in a communications building on the property. Other than legal issues (which are pretty well covered at this point), where would one go to learn about required equipment (amps, etc.), type of cable to pull, cross-connection equipment, pedestals etc? I know this covers a lot, and I have been in the electronics business for over 15 years, but transmission of signals over a mile and a half are on the fringes of my knowledge. Thoughts anyone, websites, required reading....etc?
