I think in addition to your job responsibilities, you also have to find somebody with the characteristics to take your place. If that person is more talented than you are, and you have trained and nurtured that person, then he is only going to push you farther up the ladder, or over the top. Too many people do not realize that to get ahead you have to do more than your job.
