It is getting annoying to see un qualified responses. Sparticus is correct the best method to use is that which is on the tombstone because the return is so close that the pad and eq will give an accurate enough level reading for ingress and to stuff a high value just suppresses the ingress and cheats the system of an accurate reading
>In my opinion it is better to stuff the return with high value pads while splicing. Rough activating with lower value pads or the calculated tombstone pad value can cause issues with the return sweep because of plant that hasn't been properly balanced or mitigated for noise and ingress.

>This is better than the possibility of "artificially" raising the noise floor, while guesing the gain set up in plant that has yet to be trouble shot and repaired properly.

>My opinion on the subject as I have worked under both circumstances and it's what I'd prefer, although I'm sure opinions vary on the subject.

>>Have your splicers install pads matching your tombstone. While this is not perfect, it is better than artificially lowering your noise floor.
>>
>>>Please install high value pads or terminating pads in your return input and output pad locations, As this causes sweep tech's to visit your amps twice. Because this causes an open in the return C-COR does this and it saves valuable set up time.
