It is not uncommon in the cable tv business to be booted for a lower price. So don’t take that personally. However if you have a long standing relationship with the right people in the company and consistently do good work in the eyes if the project owner, you are working for, your chances of being booted are much less. I have had relationships for over 2 years before we ever started to. work for a given company. I have never paid a bribe even though I have been asked to several times. I have taken managers to lunch, bought them a bottle of their favorite beverage for Christmas, etc. But that is the extent of favors. I refuse to work with dishonest people who think I can be bribed.
