BACKWARD SPLICED ACTIVES?!

Anybody here the story about a "smaller" MSO in the Chicago area accidentally spliced in actives backwards and left them like that? The story goes they still made spec which I highly doubt they could even do turn on much less make any specs. IMPOSSIBLE? I think so.
