We had multiple crews in South Dakota that would not come back to the shop until the 5000 feet of stand was burned up. 5000 feet was the goal and it was more often then not attained.  As  a matter of fact I just saw one of my old linemen New Years Eve. His 3 man crew consistently hit 5000 off of hooks because it was mostly easement.  But they were long days and getting paid by the foot.
