back in 1979 I built cable in Portland..Clackamus Cty. At that time only strand/coax...3 man crew off hooks/flatbed=3500-4000 day, some days 4800. I never had a crew break 5000.  Back then the budget was 1000ft per man plus 500 for the truck.  Today it's all bucket babies 2-3 man crew, high tech tools, OSHA, gas pwr drills, self load trailers....and footage has never increased...it's the same old budget.  By the way it was pretty much narrow street side running, very hilly, once in a easement, heavy trees,  The only time any crew ever gets beyond 4800 ft day is when it's like running down a railroad track..wide open, light traffic control, no trees, long spans.   Don't believe everything you read about obtaining high footage.  Now if your running ADSS fiber today...My crews dump 20,000-28,000 per week, usually 1 reel
