My last job as a contractor was the VOIP roll-out in KC almost 10 years ago. Once I came back home I was never really able to find anything close to what we had up there as far as pay and got out of the business. I still check the site occasionally and found a gig with some contractors working locally. First time in my cable contracting career not working on the road. The deal seems fairly standard but I need to make sure I'm putting myself in the best position possible. I have to carry my own insurance or pay 10% to be on theirs. With the 6 day work weeks currently that's a big number. Anyone have any suggestion on insurance? Also need a meter or can rent one at $75 a week. I use to have one but honestly have no idea what I need at this point. Contractor told me they go for $15-2500 and we have to take a signal reading at every job. The ones I'm seeing online cost no where near that but I'm not sure what I need in a meter. Thanks for your time!
