I have done over 150 schools in californi,Oregon, Washington, & Montana. All states are different about fire penetrations look local regs.! Should be using plenum cable which you really never see ! Just to give example I did all the schools in a county in Washington State. I didn't like the path of most exciting runs most were holes kicked in walls you could walk thru so I drilled & metal sleeved them also ran plenum rated corrugated flex pipe with no seams sealed all holes penetrations with fire putty. I was gigged by fire marshal for all of my 18 schools for thickness of fire sealant he wanted 3/4" not 1/2" this was 6 months after done with project! Mind you not 1 school had plenum cable are metal sleeves are even plugged insulation in holes. So go extra distance do it right charge for it. Then add a little more just cause it's a school also do it on holiday are at night are weekend ! Never while children are present just my thought
