The databases are MS Access (.mdb) format. Open it then change the version number (sorry, can't recall tables names and whatnot, but it's fairly obvious) 1 increment lower, I think it was 3.0.38 to 3.0.37. Script that and do it whenever need to open it again.
Someone did a binary edit to change the version number in the program as a permanent fix. Not hard if you know how to do it.
