Some other things to cosider:
If you drag Charter and their customers into it, you may end up on a "blacklist"
Some states have laws that make it a felony to not pay a contractor as agreed without there being some kind filing stating why you refused to pay or a police report for theft of services rendered.
You may also be able to file a police report for theft of services.
Whatever you do have all your paperwork in order.
