Hey Mike.. What I use for situations like this is a simple Garden Tiller... remove two of the tines and adjust the others to cut deeper...
I use a Stihl Tiller attachment but I also have a Garden Tiller for longer runs...
Used mostly when I cannot get a trnching machine into the area or the cost is to much...
