Yes primary and most secondary system in the US are 3 Phase. But 3 phase uses 3 conductors and a neutral, not 2 conductors. The phase sys cycles at 60 htz, meaning 1/3 of every second one of the conductors is a return path for the other 2 conductors. 3 phase sys is 200% more effective than a 2 phase syst. 2 phase is what FARMER tried to explain.
