Living in the past...when the best you can get is 1G. Bell Labs have been around since the 20's, cable maybe 48-54 so I would guess that maybe your the one who is not keeping up with technology. Anyone can be an installer...try being an engineer.
Ma Bell will always be beating on Cables door. The one who has a wire to your house will end up the winner....I say long term..it will be the electric companies.
