Back in the day . . .
I sold and installed PrimeStar...then DirecTv. I never expected to speak to a cable customer. I was surprised that cable customers jumped ship faster than OTA folks. It was the crappy service the CATV industry dished out / take it or leave it.
Looks like in your area they have fallen back to bad habits.
Consider making a sale and converting these folks to a sat system. Look at what home theatre companies are doing. While you are lomited to toning cable lines and checking fixtures......many other things will flow through coax and the customer owns the stuff once it is attached to their building. I have even seen cable drops disconnected from poles and run to a shiny new sat dish ( probably a little illegal).
Anyhow, if your local cable company is not doing a triple play deal and keeping the services up...eat them alive. Go around them. See what YOUR customers would like.
