I would take a serious look at it. I would look at getting training and by hook or crook, get into the workflow. Prices are up a tad and demand is also.
Case in point. I have a two person crew cutting out 20 year old enclosures and splicing over into new enclosures, during the window of 12:00am - 6:00 am, and they have had nights where they cut over an enclosure, and resplice into the new 88 fibers.
That invoice to my company for that night would come to about $ 2,600.00 - not too shabby...
We are now doing design work for rural power coops as well where they are building out all FTTH to their very rural customers.
"The Light Brigade" has training programs available as well as others.
