Here is the thing nobody understands. Sure raise the minimum wage up and prices will probably go up. What about those guys right now making 10 an hour? You just told them they get a 10 cent raise while everyone else got a 3 dollar an hour raise.
Lets take it one more step. someone maiking 11 an hour and the minium wage goes up to 10.10. Do you think he is gonna get a raise? Anytime this question comes up I always look at it as what kind of pay decrese am I getting because everything is going up?
As most of you know in the contract world hardly ever does your pay go up. With
minimum going up your wage just went that further down. The only way that something like this would work to an advantage is for them to require a flat percentage of increase which you can't do. For the contractors theyre not employees so they go by a different standard.
Then you also have to choose who is not gonna get that increase. Like a CEO. But how far down do you extend that? down to the general manager of each location? somewhere in the middle? No matter what someone is gonna get screwed. Just the nature of the beast.
