Not a big deal,
You have to get an approval from the customer & the person in charge of the housing unit. Sometimes it is a management company.
They want the name of the driver, his identification information and the info on the vehicle
That part can be done by phone or fax. Call base security. When approved go to the front gate and get a pass. Some sponsor will have to accompany the tech.....could be an MP or the customer (in uniform). Keep your pass with you and only go where they tell you............the days of hitting the EM Club on the way out are gone.
They do a background check on the tech and will search the truck...probably with a dog.The badge will be for a specific person for a specific day. Don't briing cameras, weapons or explosives or fuel in a container. The security wonk may confiscate something he doesn't like. At some bases expect to sit in line for hours....and prepare the customer for the wait charge. Bring lunch......ask before you try to eat at a base food outlet or purchase fuel.
You won't get an exclusive access out of this,,,,they may not let some of your tech on base but contractors work on military bases all the time.
