I think Cable is the better bet. 

To begin with, Cable does not charge you for supplies like Satellite, items such as cable, connectors, splitters, etc... are and can ad up in cost; cable supplies this for you at no charge. 

Secondly, Satellite has a more expaned work area, and that means a lot more gas and drive time that you do not get paid for. 

Finally, Cable has an ability to learn more and you can learn expanded services, such as telephony, and data (internet and networking), you can learn new items such as construction, or even fiber.

More to learn means more choices to find what you enjoy.
