Troubleshooting noise floors

Im dealing with an intermittent elevation issue in a node. Has an elevated noise floor like its a bad terminator. Found 2 bad terminators and swept mostly all amps in cascade. Fixing alot of noise but theres still ingress and some electrical.  Elevation is intermittent. I was doing research on phase- in phase and out of phase waves? Is it possible that tracking voltage and voltage drop could fix a noise floor issue?  And who can explain in phase and out of phase when dealing witb quasi square waves?
