Spiffs can be used in so many ways but ultimately I have seen my techs fall into whatever work habit fits their personality. It's great to reward your techs when they perform beyond the norm however over time the bonus will loose its appeal and you will be back to putting on the HR cap.
yes, give bonuses. But the reality is that one will only do what they want to do.
