Guns are, by nature, violent.
And let me add on a little to your 1st ammendmant right theory, children do not have the same rights in schools as adults, this is for thier protection. If, for example, a child stood up in a classroom and just starting using every profanity laced word toward a teacher, or other student, should that be protected? It is free speech isnt it? No, it is not, because a child is not mature enough (and some parents too for that matter) to understand what is right, or what is wrong, it is the job of the parents and teachers to teach children the difference.
Saying in my house: This is not a democracy, it is a dicatorship, and I am the dicator. This is what I tell my children, of course its not serious, but it gets the point across that they must listen to what I tell them, and I have the final word.
