I would have to side with the school on this matter, no child should be glorifying any firearm or organization with firearms, school is a place to learn, not promote organizations. Most, if not all school districts, have strict dress codes stating that dress must be non obstructive to the education and other children, many schools even impose a school uniform of some type.
While I don't agree with a school uniform in a public school, I do agree that the dress should be non distractive, and, being a father of 5 children myself, would definitely agree that a child wearing an NRA shirt with a gun emblazoned on it, would not be appropriate in an educational environment.
