The thing you haven't considered is that the MSO is paying those wages anyway for the in-house guys, a contractor is an added expense. Another thing you might consider is that the situation could be a training moment for the F.N.G.'s Not all systems are the same, some have proactive maint programs to find a problem before the customer see's it. But I'm guessing from the tone of your message you are frustrated and blowing off steam.
You are right in one respect, since I went in-house life is lazier. I used to climb more poles in a day than I climb in a year now.
