Okay, so lets take the republican approach: The world is in perfect health, all the burning of fossil fuels has zero influence on any ecological level, the burning of these fuels does not cause pollution in the air, oil spills do not cause death and disruption to both nature and society, the drilling and removing a substance that has been in the earth for centuries, will not have any affect on the surrounding area, as long as we pump man made chemicals back into the ground. There is no need to use solar, wind, or any other type of renewable energy, because fossil fuels are perfect!
Oh, and Dinosaurs and Men walked together, the world is only 6000 years old, Your rights are given to you by an invisible being that lives in the sky....

Science has proven that fracking is causing problems. Just in Texas along at the barnett shelf, where fracking has started in the last few years, has experienced a multitude of earthquakes, the same is in East Texas near Lufkin, fracking began, and earthquakes followed.
