Re: Asking Obama for help

I hadn't considered the 1st Amendment rights. My dislike for the practices of this group kind of overshadowed that thought process. Why should the rights of a group that is using a private funeral to make a political statement and harassing a family in a time of sorrow be more important than the rights of the family? I don't have a problem with their scheduling a march or protest in accordance with the law as the ACLU defended the Illinois Nazi's over, but that was a public gathering.
Using Prop. 8 as an example (for those unfamiliar, it was the California proposition to decide whether or not same sex marriage would be legalized), why didn't the Church of Latter Day Saints lose their tax exempt status for funding on this initiative?

Just to be clear I am against all groups, right, left, religious or political trying to force their views or will on the individual through legal or political actions.
