In most part I agree with you. Most wars are fought to obtain political goals and others are for monetary gain. The former Commandant of the Marine Corps said " There are only 2 things we should fight for. One is the defence of our homes and the other is The Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6% over here, it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100%. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag." But where I disagree with you is I believe the war in Iraq and Afghanistan were justified and were not for money or political gain. I think those wars can be sumed up by Stonwall Jackson. "We should meet the invader on the outer verge of just and right defense and raise at once the black flag. No quarter to the violators of our homes and firesides".
