It is obvious that Rush Limbaugh and the far right have always called Obama a socialist, even though he is not, does not take much to put 2 and 2 together.
So yea, it is easy to say that you, by posting a rant from Rush Limbaugh, have made this a political statement.
Socialism, as it is considered today, did not even exist in the 1600's, everything was basically a dictatorship, you in a sense worked for either the king, or the church.
What the pilgrims did was work as a community to try to survive, they were not socialist or capitalist, they were not concerned with politics, they were concerned about survival, they had to work together as a whole to survive, that is not socialism, that is a community with one goal, to not die. The same as with villages in 3rd world countries, they work as a whole for the survival of the village. Would you call them socialist?
