Splicer Pay rate on piece work Pay and per hour

I've been a cable installer for 17 years triple play and satellite dtv and dish net hughes net and wild blue  I recently got an apprenticeship with a senior Splicer thats working for the prime , I'm going to be receiving 40% of his take that he says hes getting 60% of,So I'm trying to get a handle on  the pay rate and per piece in production. Not trying to be taken advantage of,  any help will be appreciated.
