I agree 100% with that scenerio. Thats about the only thing that will cause issues like this. Or there is a lot of noise that goes away when they pull the diplex, put in a new one in and it simiulates a fix until the noise comes back making them think they had a bad diplex. If you keep replacing filters it's noise. What kind of gear are you working on, whats the split, and did you bench sweep the filters.
