Your PM is off.
On the company side of things using their truck and getting thier gas is great.
I dunno if I would take their company van because technically you would be leaseing the van. It's not for you to do what you wanna do. Like other contracts.
I personally work with 4 different companies and I will do all of them in 1 day.
This can be challenging remebering who your representing, paperwork requirements,
invoices, and pay structures.
So if you get a company truck as a contractor I would be prepared to be responsible for it.
This means you will still have to have your own truck to go work with other companies.
There should be some sort of pay offset.
I would ask A LOT of questions on them providing me a vehicle.
Got to look at the tax advantages of using your own vs. theirs.
who is paying the insurance?
how much are they deducting out of your pay to use it?
what do they deem as acceptible use
Who is resposible for the work on it
Are they taking all the tax deductions on it
Where are they requiring you to park it and what times can you use it
Will they be tracking your every move? (GPS)
If you want to just work with those guys and claim to be a contractor that is one thing.
But I really don't belive in putting all my eggs in one basket either.
Hope this helps
