I didn't know cable techs did so bad vs sat techs. I also didn't know I have been out of TV sats for over 6 years. Because when I started as an employee I was making 55/15 with them paying supplies and having insurance and paid vacation. That was all for Directv. I don't know the world of dish... But then again that may be the reason I wouldn't conciter working as a contractor for 55/15.
have noticed some areas pay more. I remember reading on this site a few years ago a tech in califonia making 60/15 and a tech in illinois making 70/20 and somewhere else making 55/15. But still. Just makes me wonder how low the pay will really go? Will people do satellite work for 30/5 in about 5 years?
