I didn't mean to imply that we shouldn't commemorate special events in our lives. My focus was on the Easter holiday. It seems that Christendom's institutions focus more on the resurrection and Easter eggs than the actual event that Jesus himself wanted his followers to memorialize. We may recognize this as individuals but it is a shame that most churches don't give it much thought.
