Don't think the QC is what they're complaining about, more like the conditions required for the pay out. You installed, as I did, when it was tap to set, more than likely with no hit required for your set top box, and no modem, mta, wireless router, eternet card, phone wires to install, probably not even a house box, and you were making more on an install than these men that are doing all that and then some. Charge backs weren't the flavor of the day, and you had more than enough time to complete your route, and pick some up if you wanted. What I noticed, when managing the group I did, was the double standard between contractor and MSO installer, as well as the routes being written up incorrectly so they could squeeze the points. Example, you go out to install a modem, and get there and the customer says, "That's not right. I requested 4 additional outlets with digital set top boxes, and a wireless router." That job may have been routed as 75 points and turns out to be 200 points. A full route may consist of 300 points, and the time alotted for that route is based on those 300 points. Now the tech has to try and complete his route doing twice the work that was alotted for it, and worry about charge backs when they can't make their time frames, or a number of other reasons. That is just the tip of the iceberg. Like I said, that is why I stick to splicing and sweep these days. Much more money without all the headaches.
